Geo-engineering

Together with the disciplines of foundation engineering and soil mechanics, geo-engineering is a fixed part in consultancy related to infrastructural and hydraulic engineering projects. Geo-engineering specialists and hydraulic engineers provide comprehensive consultancy about such aspects as cofferdam and foundation designs, quay walls, land reclamation, site preparation and earthquake analyses.

Witteveen+Bos is leading in this field, both in the Netherlands and around the world. Consideration of geo-engineering risks and associated risk control measures are a central element in our consultancy. We are involved in research programmes such as IJKDijk and cross-project explorations (POV), we fulfil a leading role in the full-scale sheet pile wall test in the dike along the river Eem, and we participate in a number of committees within the Macrostability POV and for the review of national and international standards and guidelines.
